FERRUM, Va -- Rudy Rudolph had 148 receiving yards and three touchdowns as Christopher Newport University blasted Ferrum College 58-12 in USA South football action this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium.
Ferrum was plagued by mistakes today, including three interceptions, two lost fumbles, and two dropped passes. Christopher Newport rolled up 596 yards in total offense, including 342 on the ground. Ferrum closed out the game with 358 yards in total offense.
Marcus Morrast was 9-13 passing for 186 yards and three touchdowns for the Captains (8-2, 5-2 USA South). Morrast also had 118 yards rushing on 17 carries with one score. Paul Dukes had 109 yards rushing on 17 carries with one touchdown. Cameron Barlow had a big day defensively for the Captains, posting nine tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
Tim Reynolds was 16-27 passing for 204 yards with one touchdown, and
BJ Jennings hauled in seven passes for 124 yards and one touchdown for Ferrum (2-8, 2-5 USA South). Defensively,
Aaron Linkenhoker led the Panthers with 10 tackles and a sack.
Chris Ham,
Shapiro Keeling, and
DeVante Adams each had nine tackles. Keeling also registered a sack.
