Ferrum College's home golf course is Great Oaks Country Club in nearby Floyd, Virginia. Great Oaks is a private golf club, but guests are welcome when tee times are available. Located just minutes off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Oaks has terrific views.

Great Oaks’ experienced staff strives on providing members and guests a comfortable, down to earth setting when they walk in the clubhouse. Our maintenance crew takes pride on giving players an immaculate golf course every time they tee it up.
The front nine opened in 1968 and is mostly wide open, but has length to it. The 7th hole is a 423-yard dogleg left and ranked one of the toughest holes in Southwestern Virginia. The back nine opened in 1993 and is shorter, but requires accuracy off the tee and a good putting stroke on large, rolling greens.
