Ferrum's softball facility was built in 2007 and the name changed to Vickie Van Kleeck Softball Complex in honor of longtime Head Coach Vickie Van Kleeck. The facility has a pressbox building which includes a team locker room and working pressbox upstairs, as well as restrooms, concession stand and coaches locker room downstairs.
This facility is where staff members work in hosting home games. Live statistics, live video, scoreboard, public address announcements and walkout music are coordinated from the pressbox.
Since it was built, the field has undergone several improvements including new backstop, new outfield windscreens and slats, banners, pressbox signage and a new flagpole. The pressbox building was erected in 2023.
The Ferrum College softball team has made four NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. The facility also has been used to host travel softball tournaments throughout the year.
