BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Ferrum College fell 51-28 in football this afternoon at Bridgewater College.
Tim Reynolds had a pair of touchdowns rushing, and three for another in the non-conference loss. The Eagles rolled up 538 yards in total offense, to Ferrum's 309.
Willie Logan was 22-36 passing for 350 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Bridgewater (3-0). Jacob Wright had 97 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 21 carries. Reynolds was 11-24 passing for 166 yards and one touchdown for the Panthers, while
Tae Gilbert had 92 yards and a score on 17 carries.
Defensively,
Austin Sutherland made 11 tackles for Ferrum, including seven solo stops.
Lynwood Pickett and
Chris Ham made eight tackles each for Ferrum. Ham had an interception in the third quarter, setting up a Panther score. Andrew Palmer made eight tackles for the Eagles. Bridgewater controlled the clock, eating up 38:56 to Ferrum's 21:04.
Ferrum (0-3) returns to action Saturday, Sept. 28, when it opens USA South Athletic Conference play on the road at league newcomer Huntingdon College. The game will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
