ROCKY MOUNT, Va. -- Edgard Moore was 15-26 passing for 268 yards and five touchdowns in leading Hampden-Sydney College to a 55-24 non-conference football win over Ferrum College this afternoon at Franklin County High School.

How It Happened
The Tigers scored less than three minutes into the game on Cam Johnson's 30-yard touchdown pass from Moore. Ferrum answered with a 26-yard
Hunter Ferguson field goal a few minutes later, then Johnson hauled in his second TD pass of the day, this time from 25 yards out at 1:40 of the first quarter.
Troy Helton scored on a 65-yard run for Ferrum to cut the lead to 13-10 as the first quarter ended, but that was as close as the Panthers would get all day. The Tigers scored three third-quarter touchdowns to go up 34-10 and never looked back.

Coach Dave Harper's team has an off week, then returns to action with its USA South opener Saturday, Oct. 3, against Greensboro College during Homecoming, Hall or Fame and Family Weekend. The field turf project at Adams Stadium has not been completed so the game will be played at Bassett High School. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. in Bassett, Virginia.
