WINCHESTER, Va. -- Ferrum College beat Shenandoah University 38-21 this afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference football action at Sprint Field/Shentel Stadium. Junior running back Brian Mann set four new school records in the process.

THE BASICS
The Panthers opened the game with a 17-0 lead at the end of one quarter on a Mann 36-yard run, Chase Deaton 19-yard field goal and Zack Clifford 1-yard run. The Hornets scored twice to close out the first half with a pair of Hayden Bauserman to Casey Stewart touchdowns passes and the score was 17-14 at the break. Mann added a 12-yard rushing touchdown to open the third quarter, only to see Stewart haul in his third score of the day, this time from Bauserman from 40 yards out, and the score was 24-14 with 7:25 left on the third quarter.

Chris Baker and Quentin Wallace each caught a touchdown pass from Zack Clifford in the fourth quarter to close it out. Clifford was 10-18 passing for 152 yards and two scores, and was intercepted twice. Bauserman was 23-39 for 264 yards and three scores, and was picked off twice. The senior quarterback eclipsed the 10,000-yard career passing mark for Shenandoah this afternoon. Ferrum ammassed 505 yards in total offense to Shenandoah's 373. Niccolas Helvy and Christian Johnson had seven tackles both to lead the Panthers, including six solo stops each. Tyler Williams had 10 stops for Shenandoah.

MANN RECORD RUN
Mann continues his assault on the Ferrum record books, adding four to his resume. His 260 yards rushing is the new single-game mark, breaking his own record of 258 that he set earlier this season. Mann's two TD runs gives him the new career rushing touchdowns record (36), and he also set new marks for career rushing yards (3758) and career all-purpose yards (4768).

PANTHERS CATCH A BREAK
Grande's team will be off next weekend, then returns to action Oct. 11 at Guilford College in a rare Thursday night game. The ODAC game is slated to kick off at 7:00 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina.
