Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee University scored a late touchdown to beat Ferrum College at home and earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference football title, winning 28-24 this afternoon at Wilson Field.

THE BASICS
Josh Breece's one-yard touchdown run with 1:42 left in regulation put W&L out in front for good, giving the Generals the 2021 ODAC football crown and an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs.
Ferrum grabbed the early lead at 7-0 when Deven Gray hauled in a Titus Jones 6-yard touchdown pass at 7:42 of the first quarter. W&L got on the scoreboard with Coby Kirkland's two-yard run at 5:54 of the second quarter, then took a 14-7 lead on another Kirkland TD run with no time left in the first half.
Seth Deaton split the uprights from 36 yards out at 5:45 of the third to trim the lead to 14-10, then Jones connected with Nic Cook on a 14-yard scoring strike to help Ferrum surge ahead, 17-14, at 14:47 of the fourth quarter.
Stephen Murrin scored on a six-yard quarterback keeper at 9:57 of the fourth to put Washington and Lee back out in front 21-17.
Following a pass interference call that gave Ferrum a first-and-goal at the W&L one yard line, Jones punched it in to put Ferrum back on top 24-21 with 5:49 left to play. Breece's one-yard plunge into the end zone four minutes later gave the Generals the lead for good.
