Ferrum Men Beat Regent in Non-Conference Action

THE BASICS
Both teams struggled to find baskets early in the game, with Ferrum holding a 4-0 lead before regent scored their first basket at the 15:51 mark. The two teams traded baskets before Johnny Franklin hit a three-pointer and Kam Harris dunked an outlet pass from Calvin Washington, to give them an 18-11 lead. Samir Brown gave Regent their first lead of game on a pull up jumper in the paint, 24-23. 

The score would feature four lead changes and four ties over the final 5:23 in the first half. Washington would give the Panthers a 32-30 lead with 37 seconds remaining. Neither team was able to score the rest of the half. Ferrum used a 17-8 run the firs six minutes of the second half to give them a 49-38 lead, for their largest of the game.

Joakim Joseph-Marie scored five the Royals seven points during their 7-2 run to get within six points, 51-46. Stanley Adjei's three-point play tied the game up at 59-59 with 5:18 remaining in the second half. Adjei would give them the lead 61-59 on two free throws, after stealing a pass and getting fouled as he was driving in the paint. Tahli Oden hit a three-pointer with 2:26 remaining to give Ferrum a 70-67 lead and they would hold on the rest of the game for a five point victory.
