SALEM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College men's basketball team fell 75-61 in the quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament to nationally ranked #2 and top seed Randolph-Macon College in the Salem Civic Center this afternoon.

THE BASICS
Randolph-Macon took the lead on Daniel Mbangue layup to start off the game.
Alfredo Abel-Rivera tied things up 8-8 on a free throw with just under 14 minutes left in the half.
Calvin Washington tied things up again, 14-14 on a jumper with 10:05 to play.
The Yellow Jackets then scored three straight baskets over the next three minutes to give them a 20-14 lead.
Johnny Franklin's three-pointer cut the deficit to 20-19 with 6:49 left in the first half. Josh Talbert scored five of his teams 11 points over a the next three minutes to push the Randolph-Macon lead to 31-19.
Miles Mallory's free throw at the 17:40 mark gave the yellow Jackets their largest lead of the day, 42-27.
Deshone Hicks hit 3 three-pointers and Washington knocked down a pair of free throws to make it 45-41 with 12:15 left in the game. Mallory and Jabril Robinson helped push the lead back to double-digits for Randolph-Macon, who was able to hold on down the stretch for the win.

The loss closes out Ferrum's 2022-23 season. The Yellow Jackets advance to the ODAC Tournament semifinals Saturday, where they will face the winner of #4 Roanoke College vs #5 Washington and Lee at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia. The ODAC Tournament champion will collect the league's automatic qualifier into the the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships.
