FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball match today at home to University of Lynchburg, falling 3-1 at Swartz Gym. Set scores were 25-23, 27-25, 25-27, 25-19.

THE BASICS
The Hornets stormed out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of tight wins in the first two sets. Ferrum trailed 9-1 to open the third set, then were down 18-10 before staging a comeback.
Kenzee Chaffin's kill off a
Shelby Waltrip set started the rally that would end with a 17-7 run for Ferrum trim the match lead to 2-1.
In the fourth set, the two teams played about as evenly as possible, with eight ties leading up to a 13-13 stalemate. Lynchburg went on a 12-6 run from there to end the set and match, closing on a Kailey Keough kill from Jaina Leek.
MILESTONE WATCH
Waltrip eclipsed the 1000 career assists mark. She came into the match with 989 assists and tacked on 12 more, giving her 1012 career assists.
