FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College men's basketball team fell to top ranked Hampden-Sydney College, 60-52 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play at home tonight in Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Hampden-Sydney jumped out to an early 10-4 just four minutes into the game. Down by nine,
Zavier Measmer stopped a three minute scoring drought with a floater in the paint, cut the H-SC lead to 16-9. Both teams struggled to score for the next 1:30, before Jikari Johsnon's three-pointer pulled the Panthers within seven, 21-14. Down 31-19 with 3:23 to play in the half, Ferrum closed it out on a 7-0 run to pull within 5, 31-26 at the break.
Measmer's three-pointer and assist to
Alfredo Abel-Rivera in the paint pulled Ferrum within two, 35-33 just five and half minutes into the half.
Bryant Wall's jumper tied the game at 35-35, leading to a Tiger timeout with 14:11 to play in the game. Again, both teams struggled to put points on the board, with H-SC's Davidson Hubbard layup giving the Tigers the lead back. They would go on to hold the lead for the rest of the game. Hubbard's layup pushed the Tigers lead to 10, 49-39 with 5:40 left in the half. Johnson's two free throws with under two minutes to play, cut the lead to 51-46. Ryan Clements went 3-4 from the line and Adam Brazil knocked down both of his to hold on for the win.
