FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College overcame a 14-0 deficit to post an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) football over Hampden-Sydney College at home during Homecoming Weekend, winning 41-36 at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS
Hampden-Sydney scored a pair of touchdowns, one each by Sutton Lasso and Ethan Dowdy on TD receptions from Carter Sido at 10:59 of the first quarter and 14:51 of the second, respectively.
Seth Deaton got Ferrum on the scoreboard when he split the uprights from 28 yards out at 8:37 of the second quarter to make it a 14-3 game. HSC's Elijah Swett connected on a 24-yard field goal at 6:35 of the second and the Tiger lead was 17-3.
Ferrum rallied with a
Josh Powell touchdown reception from
Zach Wyatt at 3:18 of the second, then Deaton's 22-yard field goal with no time left on the clock before halftime trimmed the Tiger lead to 17-13 at the break.
Hampden-Sydney capitalized on a Ferrum fumble to open the third quarter, cashing in with a 10-yard touchdown strike from Sido to Dowdy just 49 seconds into the quarter to push the lead to 23-13. Ferrum's
Jahylen Lee scored a pair of rushing touchdowns from there, a three-yard run at 10:40 and a 32-yard ramble down the left sideline with 0:05 showing on the clock, to put the Panthers in front 27-23.
Zach Daigler recovered a blocked HSC punt in the end zone at 13:24 of the fourth quarter, then Lee scored his third rushing touchdown of the day on a four-yard rush at 7:18 to extend the lead to 41-23. The Tigers closed the game with a pair of touchdowns strikes from Sido to Manning Lasso, but Ferrum was able to pick up two big first downs in the final drive then run out the clock.
