ASHLAND, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) football game to #24 Randolph-Macon College, falling 35-7 this afternoon at Day Field. It was the 24th consecutive ODAC win for Randolph-Macon, and gave the Yellow Jackets their third straight league title.

THE BASICS
Randolph-Macon got on the scoreboard first, courtesy of a Mitchell Johnson five-yard touchdown run up the middle and a Kyle Ihle PAT at 9:09 of the first quarter. Johnson scored again, this time from a yard out with 19 seconds left in the opening quarter, and Ihle's PAT made it 14-0.
Quarterback Dante Casciola had a pair of second-quarter touchdowns, a one-yard run up the middle at 5:34 and a 13-yard sprint up the middle with 1:17 left before the break with two Ihle PATs to make it a 28-0 game at the half.
The Yellow Jackets scored again at 9:59 of the third quarter, this time on a Kwesi Clarke 35-yard run to the right side to make it a 35-0 game.
Randolph-Macon muffed a punt and gave Ferrum possession at the RMC 32 yard line late in the third quarter.
Zach Wyatt wasted no time in getting Ferrum on the scoreboard, hitting
Josh Powell down the right side for a 32-yard scoring strike with 1:07 left in the third.
Seth Deaton's PAT trimmed the score to 35-7.
The two teams played evenly in the fourth quarter, with neither able to find the end zone. The Panther defense made a goal line stand to end the game.

Coach Kevin Sherman's team will close out the season Saturday, November 16, at home against Averett University. Prior to the game, the Panthers will celebrate Senior Day, honoring 20 graduating players. Kickoff for the ODAC game is set for 3:30 p.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium.
