Sterling Charles had 19 points and was one of five players in double digits as Ferrum College posted an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Eastern Mennonite University tonight on the road, winning 81-71 at Yoder Arena.

THE BASICS
Ferrum raced out to a 7-0 lead on a three-pointer by
Charles Tart III and a pair of baskets by
Alfredo Abel-Rivera. EMU used a 14-5 run over the next five minutes, grabbing a 14-12 lead on Aaron Brooks' three-pointer at the 13:32 mark.
Four lead changes happened over the next few minutes, with the Royals grabbing a 27-22 lead on Payton Lewis' three-pointer at 9:16. Ferrum rallied with a 17-6 spurt over the final nine minutes of the first half, grabbing a 39-33 lead on Gerron Jones' three-pointer with six seconds left before intermission.
Bryant Wall's dunk at 17:52 gave Ferrum a 43-33 lead early in the second half. The Panthers would never trail from there, eventually opening their largest lead of the game (18 points) on Wall's jumper with 5:28 left in regulation to make it a 72-54 game.
