FERRUM, Virginia – Ferrum College women's basketball team dropped a tough ODAC contest to Shenandoah 57-44. Coming in to the contest, the two teams were separated by one game. With the Hornets win, Ferrum sits in fifth place two games behind the Hornets.

THE BASICS
The Panthers shot out to a 13-4 lead behind a three pointer by
Aisha Martin with 2:56 remaining in the first quarter. Shenandoah clawed its way back and trailed by one at the end of one. The rest of the half was fairly even with the Hornets holding onto a two point lead at intermission. In the second half, Shenandoah was able to pull ahead behind league leading scorer Terese Greene's 23 point effort.
Ferrum was hampered by turnovers and poor shooting (16%) in the fourth quarter. Shenandoah won the turnover battle, 21-14. The Panthers once again was led by a balanced attack. Freshman
Maslyn Mosbacher and Martin each tallied eleven points. Junior
Allyson Cassell added 10 points. Sophomore
Zy'Breayziah Alexander came off the bench and grabbed eight boards to lead the Panthers. Freshman
Kleiauna Riddick also provided a bright spot with her five steals.
