FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped a 3-0 Conference Carolinas women's volleyball match at home to visiting Southern Wesleyan University tonight at home. Set scores at Swartz Gym were 25-8, 25-13, 25-12.

THE BASICS
Southern Wesleyan rolled to a commanding 11-0 lead in the opening set and never looked backing, eventually taking the set 25-8.
Emma Powell opened the second set with a kill for the Panthers, and the score would be 2-2 a few points later when the Warriors used a 9-2 run to go out in front 11-4, then led by as many as 11 points in taking the set 25-13.
Southern Wesleyan opened the third set with a 5-0 run, then steadily pulled away to complete the league win. Ferrum fought off a match point at 24-11 when Powell blasted a kill, but the Warriors clinched the set and match on Ellie Moore's kill on the next point.
