FERRUM, Va. -- Amber Nichole Gillen's goal in the 81st minute snapped a 1-1 deadlock and pushed Ferrum College to a 2-1 Conference Carolinas win over Chowan University this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field. The win was Ferrum's third straight, and was highlighted by a penalty kick save by senior goalkeeper 
Ashli Wuss.

THE BASICS
Laura Hulme scored first for Chowan with a goal 10 minutes into the first half to make it a 1-0 game. 
Breanna Herlihy scored an equalizer for Ferrum with 38 seconds left in the half off a Reanan Jones pass and the game was tied 1-1 at the break.
Gillen took a 
Macy Taylor pass from the tight side at the 81:01 mark and popped it in for the game-winner. Wuss was stellar in net this afternoon, playing all 90 minutes with nine saves, including her rejection of a Chowan PK attempt with 2:34 left in the game.
