FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's volleyball team dropped its home finale to King University, falling 3-0 in Conference Carolinas action. Set scores at Swartz Gym were 25-20, 25-18, 25-23.

THE BASICS
Catherine Bennett's kill midway through the first set put Ferrum out in front 13-10. A few minutes later, a
Harleigh Propst kill and a
Sarabeth Johnson kill made it an 18-16 Ferrum lead, but the Tornado came back with a 9-2 run to end the set.Â
The second set was tight as well, with Propst and
Emma Powell recording back-to-back kills to get Ferrum to within a point at 18-17. King once again answered, this time with a 7-1 run to end the set and take a 2-0 lead.Â
The third set was also tight to the end, with Ferrum holding a 21-20 lead on a
Kalee Bunn kill. The Panthers fought off a match point a few minutes later, but Gracia Love's kill with the score at 24-23 in favor of King ended the match.Â
