FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College picked up a Conference Carolinas men's basketball win at home, beating Erskine College 76-48 this afternoon at Swartz Gym. The win is the Panthers' second in as many games.

THE BASICS
The Panthers jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first half.
Alfredo Abel-Rivera knocked down a pair iof free throws to make it a 23-11 Ferrum lead at 5:52. Erskine trimmed the lead to four points when Dorian Johnson's jumper at 0:33 made it a 26-22 game at the break.Â
Ruben Salazar opened the second half with a layup and the Flying Fleet were within a basket at 26-24. Then at the 12:11 mark, Andrei Kyle Honrada made a layup to cut the lead to 38-37. That was as close as Erskine would get as the Panthers erupted with a 13-0 run to make it a 51-37 lead with just over eight minuted remaining.
Braylon Collins' three-pointer with 2:08 left gave Ferrum its largest lead of the game, 30 points, at 76-46.Â

Coach Pat Corrigan's team will be back in action with two games this week. Ferrum travels to UNC Pembroke Tuesday, December 16, for a 7:00 p.m. Conference Carolinas clash in Pembroke, North Carolina. The Panthers will then be back home on Wednesday, December 17, against Virginia University of Lynchburg. That non-conference game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
