FERRUM, Virginia – In their final game of the season, the Ferrum College men's basketball team defeated Washington & Lee University 83-77, securing their spot as the 6th seed in next week's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. With the loss, Washington & Lee concludes their season.

THE BASICS
Junior
Gerren Jones led the Panthers with 23 points, while Junior
Alfredo Abel-Rivera posted a double-double, contributing 16 points and 10 rebounds. Senior
Charles Tart III added 18 points, and Sophomore
Marcus Willis Jr. chipped in 11 points in the win.
Washington & Lee held the upper hand in the first half, shooting 57.7% from the field and taking a 40-33 lead into halftime. The Generals extended their advantage to 51-40 with 15:41 remaining in the game, but Ferrum answered back. The Panthers mounted a 23-11 run over the next eight minutes to take a 63-62 lead, which they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.
Ferrum shot an impressive 60.7% from the field in the second half and capitalized on free throw opportunities, making 20 of 26 attempts compared to Washington & Lee's 8 of 10 from the line.
