DANVILLE, Virginia –. Ferrum College men's basketball team beat ODAC rival Averett University 68-54. Junior Gerren Jones led all scorers with 18 points. Senior Charles Tart III and Junior Charles Sterling each chipped in 13 points to help lead the Panthers.

THE BASICS
The Panthers strong shooting in the first half allowed them to build the lead to as many as 18. The Cougars were able to cut into the deficit and Ferrum led 40-28 at intermission.  The Panthers shot 50% from the field in the first half.
The second half saw things flip as Averett got the hot hand early and a three pointer by Jamison Graves tied the score 46-46 eiyh 12:11 remaining in the game. The Panthers went on a 14-1 run over the final 7:30 minutes in the game to secure the victory.
