GREENSBORO, North Carolina – Ferrum College dropped a pair of softball games on the road this afternoon, losing to Greensboro College 11-3 in the opening game and dropping the second game 8-4. On the day, Emily Hopper was 4-6 scoring 2 runs and one RBI.  Riley Young was 3-6 with 2 RBI.

GAME ONE
In the first game, Ferrum was able to get on the board first when Nicole Emerson singled to left field knocking in Young. The Pride responded with 3 runs in the bottom the first. The Panthers were able to pull within one run in the top of the fourth when Young singled in Hopper. However, Greensboro plated 6 runs in the bottom of the fifth leading to the final score.

GAME TWO
In game two, the Pride opened a 5-0 lead after two innings. In the top of the third Lexi Bennett singled to left center scoring Hughes.  Young hit into a fielder choice scoring Hopper. With a 8 -2 lead going into the top of the sixth, the Panthers were able to plate two more runs leading to the final score.

UP NEXT
Coach Josh Freeman's team will be back in action Saturday, March 8, on the road in Raleigh, North Carolina where they will take on Maryville College at  2:30 pm and then Muhlenberg College at 5:00 pm.
