SALEM, Virginia -- #6 seed Ferrum College dropped a pair of games at the 2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Softball Tournament, dropping the first game of the day to #3 seed Randolph-Macon College by a score of 6-1, then falling 2-0 to #2 seed Bridgewater College. Both games were played at James I.

FERRUM vs. RANDOLPH-MACON
Randolph-Macon scored a run in the second inning and one in the third and the 2-0 lead held up through five full innings.
Mirenda Shields broke up the shutout with an RBI single up the middle in the sixth inning for Ferrum's lone run. The Yellow Jackets added four runs in the bottom half of the sixth to close out scoring. Shields went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI. Starter
Emily Wood (7-11) took the loss after pitching three innings, allowing three hits and one earned run.
FERRUM vs. BRIDGEWATER
Bridgewater's Kaelyn Ramsey tripled down the right field line in the bottom of the first inning to drive in the only two runs of the game.

Georgia Carter each had a base hit for the Panthers. Wood (7-12) absorbed the loss in this game as well, allowing three hits and two earned runs over three innings.
SEASON FINALE

Josh Freeman's team closed out the season with today's action. The Panthers graduate one player, McMillen, and have 17 players eligible to return for the 2026 season. Ferrum will leave the NCAA Division III ranks and the ODAC this summer, reclassifying as an NCAA Division II institution and competing as a member of Conference Carolinas in all sports starting in Fall 2025.
