FERRUM, Virginia -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced its 2025 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team (ODAC), and Ferrum College's Makaila Veney has been named to the second team. This is Veney's third straight All-ODAC nod. She was also an All-ODAC second team selection in 2023 and 2024.

A senior defender from Montross, Virginia, Veney tallied nine goals and an assist this season. She set a new school record for draw controls in a single game April 2 against Eastern Mennonite University, when she secured 16 draw controls.

Veney's career honors include All-ODAC second team in 2023 and 2024, ODAC All-Academic Team in 2022-23 and 2023-24, Virginia Sports Information Directors Academic All-State in 2023-24 and Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coach Association Academic Honor Roll in 2024.

Washington and Lee University grabbed two of the major individual awards on the 2025 ODAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team, with Libby Ford and Lara Biki earning Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Roanoke College's Grace Koutouzis earned Offensive Player of the Year, and Shenandoah University's Lindsey Lutz was named Coach of the Year. Additionally, Averett University's Faith Bowlin has been named the 2025 ODAC/VAFB Women's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Ferrum closed the 2025 season with a 7-9 overall record under first-year Head Coach Carly Coyle. Ferrum will leave the NCAA Division III ranks and the ODAC this summer, reclassifying as an NCAA Division II institution and competing as a member of Conference Carolinas in all sports starting in Fall 2025.
