FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College earned its first football win since becoming an NCAA Division II school, beating Shaw University this afternoon at home 14-6 at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS
Shaw drew first blood on Justin Wheeler's four-yard touchdown pass to Cobie Bates on third and four at 4:09 of the first quarter. The PAT attempt was blocked and the Bears' 6-0 lead held through the break.
Ferrum got on the scoreboard at 13:58 of the third quarter on
Aidan Vaught's two-yard run at the 13:39 mark.
Jon Davis converted the PAT and Ferrum led 7-6.Â
