LEXINGTON, Va. -- Ferrum College settled for a 1-1 draw with NCAA Division I Virginia Military Institute in non-conference men's soccer action this afternoon at Patchin Field.

THE BASICS
Payton Rausch broke the ice for Ferrum when he took a pass from
Daniel Ginocchi and beat VMI goalkeeper Santiago Rocha with a blast into the top center of the net in the 28th minute of play.
Rausch's goal would hold through halftime, and into the 76th minute of play when Thimson Duolo scored for the Keydets at the 75:40 mark with an assist credited to Andres Fuentes-Ramos.
VMI out-shot Ferrum 7-6 and closed the game with a 2-0 edge in corner kicks. Ferrum committed 17 fouls to VMI's 15, with the Keydets earning a pair of yellow cards.
