FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's volleyball team dropped its Conference Carolinas opener tonight at home, falling 3-0 to Lees-McRae College at Swartz Gym. Set scores were 25-21, 25-10, 25-23.

THE BASICS
The opening set was tied at 21-21 when Lees-McRae closed it out with four straight points to grab the early 1-0 lead. The Bobcats then rattled off a quick second set to extend the lead to 2-0.
The third set was tight, with Ferrum leading 16-14 before LMC used a 7-2 rally to go out in front 21-18.
Catherine Bennett had back-to-back kills and
Danielle Worthy had a service ace to tie the set at 21-21. Four points later, the score was tied at 23-23, but the Bobcats closed out the set and match from there with a service ace and a kill.
