Ferrum Men Make it Four in a Row with Win at Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — Gerren Jones had 21 points and Alfredo Abel-Rivera added 20 points as Ferrum College won on the road this afternoon over Emmanuel University in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action. The final score at Shaw Athletic Center was 89–75.

The win was Ferrum's fourth in a row, dating back to December 17, and the third straight in Conference Carolinas play.

THE BASICS
Ferrum jumped out to a 20–6 lead in the first six minutes of the game and never trailed. Knowledge Ruben was fouled as he made a layup and sank the ensuing free throw to give Ferrum a 19-point lead, 32–13, with 8:00 remaining in the first half. MJ Winstead's jumper with 23 seconds left in the first half gave the Panthers a 44–27 lead at the break.

The Panthers continued to roll in the second half, building their largest lead of 28 points on Alfredo Abel-Rivera's layup at the 13:30 mark to make it a 59–31 game. Emmanuel rallied to cut the lead to 10 points at 81–71 on Ezra McKee's layup with 1:42 left in regulation, but Ferrum used an 8–4 run to close it out.
