FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College posted two non-conference softball shutout wins at home over Virginia Union University, winning by identical 11-0 scores in five innings this afternoon at Vickie Van Kleeck Field.

The opener turned into a home run derby for Ferrum, with the Panthers belting five homers.
Samantha Smith had a two-run homer in the first inning, then clocked a grand slam over the left field fence in the third.
