From Setback to Statement: Panthers Rebound After Loss

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College split its women's flag football action Wednesday, March 11, going 1-1 on the day. The Panthers fell 48-7 to #3 Milligan University in the first game before bouncing back with a dominant 99-0 victory over Radford University later in the day.

FERRUM vs. MILLIGAN
Milligan controlled the contest from start to finish, taking a 20-0 halftime lead and scoring 28 more points in the second half. Quarterback Bridget Keyser completed 29 of 35 passes for 397 yards and seven touchdowns, connecting on scoring plays of 57, 22, and 11 yards, among others. Ferrum's lone score came on a one-yard rush from Malaea Lotima-Tonga. Quarterback Payson Shreeve passed for 341 yards, but was intercepted four times and sacked five times. On defense, Milligan forced four interceptions and recorded four sacks, while Ferrum's defense tallied 38 total tackles and limited big plays but could not contain the visitors' passing attack.

FERRUM vs. RADFORD
Ferrum rebounded in spectacular fashion against Radford, scoring early and often to build a commanding 99-0 lead. The Panthers' offense was nearly unstoppable, mixing explosive passing and rushing plays to maintain constant pressure. Quarterback Payson Shreeve and the receiving corps connected on multiple long touchdowns, while Macy Taylor and Malaea Lotima-Tonga contributed big gains on the ground. Ferrum's defense was impressive, shutting out Radford, forcing turnovers, and consistently stopping the Highlanders' offense.
