Panthers Drop Road Game

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Ferrum women's lacrosse team fell 22–1 to Emmanuel (Ga.) Saturday afternoon in Franklin Springs, Georgia. Alaia Beckwith scored the Panthers' lone goal, while Caroline Moore and Kaniah Copeland each caused a turnover on the defensive end. Despite several ground ball efforts and defensive stops, Emmanuel controlled possession throughout the contest, winning 21 draw controls compared to three for Ferrum.

THE BASICS
Emmanuel opened the game with a strong first quarter, scoring 10 goals to build an early advantage. The Lions added four more goals in the second quarter to take a 14–0 lead into halftime. Emmanuel continued its offensive pressure in the third period with six additional goals.

Ferrum found the scoreboard in the fourth quarter when Beckwith scored at the 12:23 mark after winning the draw control. The Lions responded later in the period with another goal to bring the final score to 22–1.

Beckwith led Ferrum offensively with one goal on five shots. Lana Barkovic and Noelle LaCharite paced the Panthers defensively with three ground balls each, while Moore added two caused turnovers and two draw controls.

Ashley Font started in goal for Ferrum and recorded two saves in the first half, while Faith Feazell added two saves in the second half.
