MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -- Ferrum College dropped a pair of Conference Carolinas softball games to University of Mount Olve this afternoon on the road. The Panthers lost 8-4 in the opener and 8-4 in five innings in the nightcap at Nancy Chapman Cassell Field.

GAME ONE
Mount Olive scored a run in the bottom of the first inning for the early lead.
Hannah Hooper's double to right center in the top of the fourth inning drove in two runs for Ferrum, then
Abby Bradberry singled to left in the fifth to put the Panthers on top 3-1.
The Trojans tied the game at 3-3 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, then exploded for five runs in the sixth for the 8-3 lead.
Cheyenne Estep scored on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh, but that's all Ferrum could manage.

In the nightcap, Mount Olive scored five runs in the second inning, one in the third and two in the fourth. Steen tossed a complete game no-hitter with 10 strikeouts to complete the Conference Carolinas sweep.Â
