Noah Hughes joined the Ferrum athletics staff as Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach in October 2024. Hughes comes to Ferrum from East Texas Baptist University, where he was a grad assistant coach. The Tigers had six men in the main draw, a first, one of which advanced to the round of 16 in the Fall 2024 ITA Regional. In doubles, ETBU had three teams qualify for the main draw and two made the quarterfinals. The Tigers also had a woman advance to the main quarterfinal at the ITA Regional, another first.

Hughes played tennis three years at Bridgewater College, where he earned second team All-Conference in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in doubles in 2021-22. He was a three-time ODAC Player of the Week honorable mention in 2023-24, and earned ODAC Sportsmanshiop Accolades. As a three-year started for the Eagles, Hughes was voted team captain during his junior and senior seasons in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

He was a tennis and pickleball teaching professional at Sea Pines Racquet Club in Hilton Head Island, Georgia. He also served as Assistant Tennis Pro at Spotswood Country Club in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Hughes completed a Tennis Coach Practicum with the Bridgewater women's tennis team in Spring 2024.

His certification include Adult, Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED, National Federation of State High School Associations, and SafeSport For Youth Athletes.
