Logan Meister was named the third Head Men's Wrestling Coach in Ferrum's program history in June of 2021. He first joined the Panther wrestling coaching staff in the fall of 2017 and serving a year as Volunteer Assistant Coach. Meister also served as Head Women's Wrestling Coach during the 2021-22 season, taking on the challenge of rebuilding the Panther women's mat program.
As Ferrum's Head Wrestling Coach, Meister led two wrestlers to the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships in 2023, in 2024 and again in 2025. In 2024, he had an All-American, Rayshawn Dixon (5th at 285 lbs). Then in 2025, Dixon and Zach Beckner (125) both placed fourth in the nation to each earn their second All-America honor. Meister led Ferrum to its best-ever NCAA Tournament finish in 2025, closing the championships with a 15th-place finish in a field of 74 teams.
Meister served the 2018-19 season as Graduate Assistant Wrestling Coach at McDaniel College while working on his master's degree. Meister returned to Ferrum in the fall of 2019 as Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach and served as the program's Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Meister is one of the most decorated wrestlers in school history, earning three trips to the NCAA Division III Wrestling Tournament. He was the College's first NCAA wrestling qualifier (2014), the first NCAA Regional Champion (2016) and the first NCAA All-American when he placed sixth at the 2016 NCAA Tournament at 157 pounds. Meister won back-to-back titles at the rugged Pete Willson/Wheaten Invitational in 2016 and 2017, earning Outstanding Wrestler in 2017.
A 2017 Ferrum grad, Meister was also strong in the classroom, earning National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-America honors in 2016 and 2017. He also earned Ferrum's prestigious President's Cup in 2017, Ferrum's first wrestler to earn the award. Meister earned his Master's of Science in Kinesiology from McDaniel in May 2020.
