FERRUM, Va. -- Covenant College closed with a furious rally over the final three minutes of regulation to pull out a 66-54 USA South men's basketball win over Ferrum College tonight at Swartz Gym. The Scots used a 15-1 run in the final 2:56 of play to post the come-from-behind win in the league-opener for both teams.
Jamal Pullen had 22 points for the Panthers, while
D'Andre Mullen added 10 points and
Alek Ayer had nine points. Colton McGriff had 15 points for the Scots (2-8, 1-0 USA South) and TJ Cox added 11 points. Ferrum (4-7, 0-1 USA South) returns to action Saturday, Jan. 3, at home against Maryville College. The USA South game begins at 4:00 p.m.
