FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College men's basketball team evened it's record at 2-2 with a victory this afternoon over Methodist University, winning 83-59 at home in Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Methodist led 10-9 on Derrion Hicklen's jumper at the 14:34 mark of the first half. Ferrum responded with a 9-4 run over the next three minutes to go out in front 18-14 on
Ayden Gamble's jumper in the paint.
Tahli Oden dropped two free throws at 6:36 to give Ferrum its largest first half lead at 27-18. The Monarchs responded with a 12-2 run over the next six minutes to grab a 30-29 lead with 41 seconds left in the half.
Calvin Washington's layup with 25 seconds remaining in the half gave Ferrum a 31-30 lead at the break.
Ferrum exploded, scoring 52 points in the second half to run away with the game. The Panthers opened the half with a 5-0 run, including an Oden jumper and free throw and a jumper by Washington to extend the lead to 36-30 early on. Ferrum slowly pulled away, building a 77-50 lead on Oden's jumper with 2:40 left in the game.
