FERRUM, Virginia – Today in a home tri-match, Ferrum College's Women's Volleyball team won their first match of the day against Division ll Winston-Salem State University in 5 sets, but they dropped their second match against Carolina University in 4 sets.

In the first match of the day, Ferrum won the first set then dropped the next two sets entering the fourth set 1-2. This made the fourth set very exciting with Ferrum holding on to the lead and was able to win it by two making a fifth set necessary. This set started out as a back-and-forth battle, however, Ferrum took a commanding lead eventually winning the set and the match.
Jaycee Chaffin led the team with 14 kills.
Airiana Beverley had 7 blocks.
Shelby Waltrip led her team in assists with 23.
Kenzee Chaffin stepped up on defense with 23 digs.
FERRUM-CAROLINA
For the second match of the day, Ferrum dropped a close first set by three points, but were able to rally back to win the second set by more than 10 points. However, Carolina was able to fend off Ferrum in the next two sets to claim the victory. K. Chaffin led the second game in kills. Waltrip lead assists again with 19.
Sami Kircher led the defense in the second game with 24 digs.
