Ferrum Men Fall On The Road To Lynchburg, 80-68

LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- The Ferrum College men's basketball team saw its seven game winning streak come to end tonight against the University of Lynchburg. Losing 80-68 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup in Turner Gym.

THE BASICS
Tahli Oden's jumper and Bryant Wall's two baskets helped ferrum jump out to a 6-2 lead at the 16:51 mark in the first half. Alfredo Abel-Rivera went one for two from the free throw line, giving the Panthers a 13-8 lead with 12:55 to play in the half. Lynchburg's Taylor Miles gave them their first lead of the game, converting the three-point play off of a turnover. Calvin Washington tied the game at 18-18 and both teams kept trading baskets, with it tied at 24-24 with 6:18 remaining the half. 

Lynchburg took the lead 26-24 with just over five minutes to go and did not surrender the lead, using a 15-4 run to close out the half leading 41-29. The Hornets would go on to lead the rest of the game. Lynchburg grew their lead to as many as 18 points, three times, not letting the lead go below eight points the rest of the game. Lynchburg held Ferrum to just 1-9 form beyond the arc and forced 10 turnovers, leading to 12 points for the Hornets.
