Johnson and Wall Combine for 44 Points in Non-Conference Win on the Road

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- Jikari Johnson and Bryant Wall combined for over 40 points for Ferrum College in a 85-78 non-conference men's basketball win  over Johnson and Wales Charlotte University

THE BASICS
Tahli Oden scored five of Ferrum's first nine points on 9-2 run in the first four and a half minutes of the game.  Johnson and Wales would outscore the Panthers 18-12 over the next seven and a half minutes, cutting the score to 21-20 Ferrum lead. An 8-0 run sparked by Oden's jumper helped give the Panthers a 31-22 lead with 4:15 left in the half. 

Jikari Johnson hit three free throws and Bryant Wall scored five points on a 8-1 run to start the second half. Ferrum would outscore Johnson and Wales 12-7, pushing their lead to double digits, 61-44 with 13:15 to play in the half.  Johnson's gave the Panthers their largest lead of the day, 69-49 with 11:03 left in the game. The Wildcats clawed their way back, cutting the deficit in half, to 79-69 with 2:45 to play. Nathan Meshida's three pointer for Johnson and Wales, cut the Panther lead to 79-75 with 1:28 on the clock. Ferrum hit six free throws down the stretch to hold on for a non-conference road win.
