FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College men's basketball team fell to #16 nationally ranked Guilford College, 75-65 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game in Swartz Gymnasium.

THE BASICS
Tyler Dearman scored the first points of the game for Guilford, almost two minutes in, at the 18:21 mark.
Deshone Hicks answered with a deep three-pointer of his own. The Quakers responded with a 14-1 run to take a comfortable 16-4 lead with 12:21 in the first half.
Alfredo Abel-Rivera answered with a layup and
Calvin Washington added two quick baskets. One a beautiful outlet pass from Hicks tha lead to a dunk and after a steal by Abel-Rivera, Hicks fed Washington for a 18-foot jumper. Ferrum got within four, 24-20 with 5:23 before Guilford closed out the half on a 15-2 run to take a 39-22 lead at half.
A strong start to the second half for the Quakers gave them the largest lead of the day, 47-22 after Jorden Davis hit a three-pointer with 16:56 left in the game. Ferrum slowly chipped away at the lead the next six minutes and cut the lead to just 15 points.
Guilford then used an 8-0 run to give them a 65-42 lead at the 8:29 mark.
Jamar Butler's two free throws cut the deficit to just nine points, 71-62 and capped off a 20-6 run the Panthers were on to get the lead down to single digits.
