WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina -- Ferrum College picked up a pair of non-conference volleyball wins this afternoon on the road, beating Caroline University and Paine College by 3-0 scores. The tri-meet was held at Carolina Gymnasium.

FERRUM vs. CAROLINA
In the first match of the day, Ferrum and host Carolina were tied 29-29 in the opening set, but the Panthers closed the set out on back-to-back kills by
Kenzee Chaffin and
Jaycee Chaffin. The two teams were tied 15-15 in the second set, only to see Ferrum use a 10-5 rally to end the set, closing on a
Jaycee Chaffin kill and
Shelby Waltrip assist. The third set was also tight, with Ferrum nursing a 15-14 lead before using a 10-7 rally and ending the set and match with a Carolina attack error.

Kenzee Chaffin set. The two teams were deadlocked at 14-14 in the second set before the Panthers edged out in front 23-22. The set ended with a pair of Paine errors. The third set saw Ferrum go out front 16-13, then use a 9-2 win to close out the set and match. The final two points were on a
Mackenzie Ellinger kill off a Waltrip set and then a Paine attack eror.
