LEXINGTON, Virginia -- Ferrum College men's basketball team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference midweek matchup to Washington and Lee, 85-79 in Holekamp Gym tonight.

Washington and Lee jumped out to a 10-2 lead just three minutes into the game.
Alfredo Abel-Rivera knocked down a pair of free throws and added a layup to cut the deficit to 12-8 at the 16:13 mark. The two teams scored a combined five points over the next four minutes, with the Generals leading 14-11 with over 12 minutes to play in the half.
Bryant Wall's jumper pulled Ferrum within two, 18-16 and cut the lead to 21-18 with his second straight basket for the Panthers. The Generals took a 37-29 lead into the half.
After WLU extended their lead to 10, Ferrum slowed chipped away at the lead over the next few minutes.
Calvin Washington's layup and Abel-Rivera's free throw pulled the Panthers to within four, 45-41 with 15:01 left on the clock.
Jikari Johnson scored six points on a 8-2 Ferrum run to tie the game at 51-51 11:42 remaining. The two teams traded the baskets and the lead over the next five minutes.
Robert DiSibio sunk two free throws with 5:53 left in the game, giving WLU a 68-67 lead for the remainder of the game. Washington's three-point play cut the lead to 81-79 with 54 seconds left in the game. The Generals went 4-4 from the charity stripe to close out the game. Â
