THE BASICS
The visitors Randolph-Macon jumped out to a quick 9-3 lead in the first five minutes of the game.
Jikari Johnson's three-point play, cut the lead to one, 10-9 with 13:11 on the clock in the half. Two quick Yellow Jacket's three-pointers put them up by seven, 16-9 with 12:21 remaining in the half.
Alfredo Abel-Rivera's layup stopped a three minute scoring drought at the 10:08 mark.Â
Will Coble's three-pointer gave RMC an 11 point lead, 24-13 with 7:20 to play in the half.
Bryant Wall's dunk pulled Ferrum within six, 29-23 with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. The Yellow Jackets ended the half on a 6-2 run, taking a 10 point lead 35-25 at the break.
In the second half, Ferrum found some momentum and used a 16-6 run over four minutes and 45 seconds to tie the game at 41-41 with 15:15 showing on the clock.
Tahli Oden hit a three-pointer to start things off and
Sterling Charles scored six points to help the Panthers tie up the game. With 12:19 on the clock, Abel-Rivera's free throw gave Ferrum its first lead of the game, 46-45. Oden extended the lead to 51-47 with three-point basket, with 10:43 left in the game. Â
The Yellow Jackets outscored the Panthers 14-8 the rest of the game to comeback and win a nailbiter in Swartz Gym. Ferrum's last second effort fell short to win the game.
