BRIDGEWATER, Virginia -- Ferrum College's men's basketball team fell 85-82, in overtime on the road to Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Bridgewater College this afternoon at Nininger Hall.

THE BASICS
Tahli Oden and
Calvin Washington both hit jumpers to put Ferrum in front early 4-3. Over the next two minutes of play, Bridgewater went on a 10-0 run, leading 13-4 with 15:21 to play in the half. The Eagles continued to build on that lead and led by as many as 19, 32-13 with 7:57 remaining in the first half. The Panthers slowly cut away at the deficit, outscoring Bridgewater 19-10 to pull within 10, 42-32 at halftime.
Bryant Wall's layup pulled Ferrum within five, 50-45 with 13:18 left to play in the game. Bridgewater was unable to get the lead back to double digits the rest of the game, with the Panthers pulling withing two or three baskets of them. Oden's jump shot with 8:02 remaining, cut the lead to just one, 61-60. Khalil Ward's dunk with 2:34 left in the game, pushed the lead to seven, 74-67.
Oden would score six of Ferrum's final eight points in regulation, including a pull up jump shot to tie the game at 75-75 with 25 seconds to play. The Eagles last second shot fell short and the game headed to overtime.
Oden gave the Panthers the lead 77-75 with a pair of free throws, thirty seconds into overtime. A Bridgewater 6-0 run gave them a four point lead, 81-77 with just over a minute left in overtime.
Zavier Measmer's step back 3-pointer in the right corner pulled Ferrum within one, 83-82 with nine seconds left in the game. Jordan Cooper knocked down two free throws with six seconds left to secure the win for the Eagles.
