WINCHESTER, Virginia -- Ferrum College lost in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) football action on the road to Shenandoah University, falling 42-20 this afternoon at Glo Fiber Field at Shentel Stadium.

THE BASICS
Shenandoah scored first on Jalen Redfearn's 22-yard touchdown run around the right side at 10:40 of the first quarter to spot the Hornets a 7-0 lead. On the ensuing kickoff, Ferrum's
Caleb Holland returned the ball 98 yards for a score and after a missed PAT, the score was 7-6. Less than four minutes later, Steven Hugney ran in from three yards out for Shenandoah to make the score 14-6.
Hugney then took to the air, connecting with Michael Sheil on a 14-yard scoring strike at 1:40 of the first quarter to make it a 21-6 game headed into the second. Hugney scored on a two-yard run midway through the second quarter, then hit Bryce Buchanan with a 36-yard touchdown pass at the 5:18 mark to put Shenandoah on top 35-6 at the break.
A scoreless third quarter was broken up by Holland rumbling in from four yards out at 1:36 and
Seth Deaton's PAT was good to make it 35-13 after three full quarters.
Zach Wyatt connected with Marquis Woodruff on a 46-yard touchdown pass. Deaton's PAT to cut the lead to 35-20 with 9:02 left to play. Buchanan added a late three-yard rushing touchdown with 4:18 left to play to cap scoring.
