HAMPTON, Virginia -- #14 Ferrum College needed wins from Rayshawn Dixon (285 lbs) to get past Marymount University and Elizabethtown College in first day action at the 2025 Virginia Duals at Hampton Coliseum. The Virginia Duals, now in its 44th year of competition, is one of the oldest wrestling tournaments in the nation, across all divisions.

THE BASICS
The #6 seeded Panthers trailed 22-21 to Marymount, before Dixon posted an 11-0 major decision over Brey Loving for the 25-22 win. Sam Slate (197) recorded a pin, while Zach Beckner (125), Trent Proctor (133) and Gabriel Cortes (165) each posted tech falls.

Ferrum then trailed 21-19 to #3 seed Elizabethtown, when Dixon pinned Ksawery Niewadomy in the time of 2:24 for the 25-21 win. Avery Hall (174) had a pin for the Panthers, Beckner (125) and Cameron Curva (149) had tech falls and Josiah Canales (141) earned a decision.
