LEXINGTON, Virginia - Ferrum College's women's basektball team lost to #16 ranked Washington & Lee this afternoon 63-50. On a cold shooting day, Junior

THE RECORDS
Ferrum 8-6 (3-3)
Washington & Lee 12-2 (4-1)
THE BASICS
Ferrum built an early 13-7 lead in the first six minutes of the game behind hot shooting from beyond the arc. Cassell, Freshman
Kleiauna Riddick, and Martin each knocked down early treys to help the Panthers go ahead. The Generals bounced back and were able to bounce back and take a one point lead heading into the second quarter.
The Panthers cooled off in the second quarter and W&L used a 13-2 run over the last six minutes of the half to take a 30-21 lead into intermission. The second half saw Ferrum close the gap to 34-32 on a Martin layup with 4:46 remaining in the period. The Generals used a 20-0 run spanning two quarters to build an insurmountable lead. The Panthers, however, battled back and cut into the lead in the fourth quarter.
W&L was able to control the pace and held a 23-6 advantage in fast break points. That combined with the Panthers shooting 30.6% from the field proved to be to much to overcome.
