ROANOKE, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) wrestling match to Roanoke College, falling 38-14 this afternoon at Mill Mountain Theater.

THE BASICS
Roanoke raced out to a 15-0 lead after three matches, posting back-to-back-to-back technical falls at 125, 133 and 141 pounds. Ferrum's Cameron Curva broke up the shutout with a 15-4 major decision over Roanoke's Dustin Smith at 149 pounds, trimming the score to 15-4. The Maroons came back to post three straight falls at 157, 165 and 174 pounds, then added a tech fall at 184 pounds to to bump the team score to 38-4.

Sam Slate stemmed the tide after earning a win by disqualification for the Panthers after his opponent, Cam Cavins, was hit with a fifth stalling call at 197 pounds. That match got the lead down to 38-10. Rayshawn Dixon, who is currently ranked #2 in the nation at 285 pounds, closed out the dual meet by posting a 9-1 major decision over Brady Elswick for the 38-14 final score.
