THE BASICS
Roanoke came out of the gates quickly, opening a 21-2 lead. Ferrum cut the lead to 26-8 on
Zavier Measmer's three-pointer at the 11:27 mark, only to see the Maroons use a 12-3 run to extend to lead to 38-11 when Gavin O'Malley was fouled and converted one of his two free throws. The Panthers trailed 52-24 at the break, thanks to four Roanoke players in double digits in the opening 20 minutes of play; Joshua McClary, Marcus Morgan, Jackson Bell and Joshua Morse.
Ferrum rallied in the second half, cutting the deficit to 55-31 on
Alfredo Abel-Rivera's layup at 17:26. The Maroons used a 23-8 run over the next eight minutes to extend the lead to 77-39 with just over nine minutes remaining in the game, a deficit Ferrum would never recover from.
