WINCHESTER, Virginia -- Ferrum College eked out a 27-20 Old Dominion Athletic Conference wrestling win over Shenandoah University Saturday, January 25, at James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center.

THE BASICS
Zach Beckner (125 lbs) accepted a forfeit to open the night, then
Trent Proctor (133) had a dominating 16-3 major decision to spot Ferrum the early 10-0 lead. Sean Rinebolt put Shenandoah on the scoreboard with a 7-3 decision at 141 to trim the lead to 10-3.
Cameron Curve (149) and
Joseph Olalde (157) earned back-to-back major decisions for the Panthers to extend the lead to 18-3. Jalen Cornelius picked up a fall for the Hornets at 165, then Dylan Weaver earned a tech fall at 174 for the Hornets and Ferrum was assessed a team point for sportsmanship to make it a 17-14 team score.
Joseph Toner stemmed the time for Ferrum when he pinned SU's Dylan Weigert in a time of 5:30 to extend Ferrum's lead to 23-14. Tyler Tarallo picked up a pin for Shenandoah at 197 pounds, to trim the lead to 23-20 headed into the final match of the night. Ferrum's
